TikTok just added some new insights elements to its evolving Creative Center platform, which provides data on trending Hashtags, songs, regional performance stats, key influencers, and more, letting users get a better handle on what is currently trending on the app. For a highly trend-driven platform like TikTok, the more insight available, the better.

A Creative Perspective

Based on screenshots shared by never-failing Matt Navarra, these new insights will provide ‘significant research value’, enabling marketers to dig deeper into TikTok’s top trends. For example, tapping on ‘See Analytics’ that’s next to any song will show you a mapping chart of the popularity of chosen songs over time, along with demographic info showing which users are engaging with it, as well as their related interests.

As a side-note, you can check out Kate Bush’s other tracks from this period, with a range of unusual stories being told in the lyrics. For example, ‘Cloudbusting’ tells the story of a farmer seeking to make rain with a machine that he invented. You can also look up trending Hashtags, with the listings displaying popularity by region.

Likewise, you can also get insights into how each trend performs in different parts of the world, along with the top creators aligned with each. Meanwhile, the ‘Creators’ tab shows the top influencers in the app by region, including some key engagement stats such as the number of likes and followers.

These advanced insights could be great for guiding your own TikTok content approach and determining key influencers that you may want to partner or collaborate with to help amplify your campaigns. Or maybe you just want to check in on the latest trends out of general interest or curiosity, now with a heap more info readily available to address your research needs. As noted, these are the latest additions to TikTok’s Creative Center platform, complete with its own handy Ad Library by the way, which also shows the top-performing ads in the app.

Last month, TikTok also launched a new, interactive insights platform, which enables users to choose from a range of filters to discover and look up key data points on their target market/s.

The Wrap

Combining all these new and expanded methods, TikTok now has various options to dig into the key trends of its app, developing a better understanding of what users are interested in and engage with at any given time. Essentially starting as a new-age social platform that focused on short clips, TikTok has now evolved into a fully-fledged social network that offers a variable degree of advertising potential, thanks to its numerous publications based on internal data and external information derived from credible sources and partnerships. TikTok’s Creative Center is definitely worth a look.
