YouTube continues to build up its live-stream offers, with the latest addition being a new ‘Notify Me’ CTA button that’ll show up for upcoming live-stream listings, which will help creators maximize viewership of their broadcasts by keeping their fans updated on streams that are currently ongoing. You’d think that they’d just expand the notification bell icon to drop down separate options, right? But hey, perhaps YouTube has a different set of machinations in mind.

YouTube Reminds Us…

Based on official examples, live reminders, at least in this particular case, users who have expressed an interest in your upcoming broadcast will be able to tap to get a notification when their streams begin.

This should make it much easier to stay on top of broadcast times and ensure that people don’t miss out, which could get more people tuning in, more often. YouTube says that live creators have been asking for more ways to keep their audience notified of their broadcasts. At the very least, this offers a simple way to maintain awareness and engagement.

On another front, YouTube has also updated its Studio analytics display for date ranges, with new chips making it easier to scan through your performance stats. In all honesty, it’s just a new button, so, contextually, there isn’t really much to go on without making the topic sound forced. To be fair, YouTube Studio doesn’t have as extensive an analytics capacity as the regular YouTube app, so anything that adds to its present toolkit will surely be beneficial.

The Wrap

Again, it’s not a major shift, but it can make it a little easier to look through your content response data, thus also making it easier to assess potential areas of opportunity. Not only that but given how live content has always proven challenging, to both regulate and curate, extra elements should help make them more manageable, thereby being of higher quality as well. Both of these updates are being rolled out from this week. You can read more information here.
