TikTok, earlier in October, released its inaugural ‘Discover List’, highlighting the top 50 most influential creators on the platform. TikTok has again published a new list, this time featuring some of the top brand/creator collaborations of 2021. In what can only be described as a ‘grandiose’ showcase, TikTok presents you with its ‘Culture Driver List’.

As TikTok explains:

“No platform has impacted culture more than TikTok in 2021, whose hyper-aware and engaged community skyrocketed to more than 1 billion users globally, providing brands with an unmatched opportunity. From Clinique’s #zithappens campaign (9.6B views) featuring creator Jasmine Sullivan to the #JifRapChallenge (6.9B views) featuring creator Chakira Clark, the list proves that with the right creative spark and collaboration, any brand – regardless of industry – is capable of creating a cultural phenomenon on TikTok.”

No doubt avid TikTok viewers will see some familiar faces and handles, making this a potentially highly-engaging list. Not only would it pull the strings of TikTok aficionados, but also give an idea to newcomers and TikTok-outsiders just how diverse and evolutionary the platform is.

Red Carpet Treatment

Because the list features an extensive array of profiles, it required its own mini-ste. Using the word ‘list’ to even try and describe it is a grave understatement as the showcase is anything but a list. ‘Culture Driver’ includes an overview of featured creators, as well as their personal marketing partners, along with an ‘A to Z’ of TikTok trends.

The creative team even went as far as assigning each letter its own 10-second clip, aiming to highlight the specific elements that drive engagement within the app. Though not overly insightful on their own, which is normal for 10-second clips, the overall listing does provide a good set of pointers and tips that at least give viewers an idea of how they can better align their content strategy to come up with a more effective TikTok marketing approach.

Either way, if not to inform, then viewers can simply glean both insights and inspiration from the various creators featured on the list, taking from their examples possible strategies that they can mimic or incorporate into their own marketing efforts. That, at least in a sense, seems to be the driving premise behind this entire project; to highlight the opportunities on TikTok as showcased by individuals who were able to ‘do things right’.

Same with their ‘Discover List’, all you had to do to get more bio info for each creator is to tap their corresponding username (TikTok handle).

The Wrap

There’s definitely a ton of insights to be had here, so it’s definitely worth taking a look at, especially for those who want to level-up their TikTok marketing. It could be a very good opportunity to get direct tips from those who are already enjoying success on the platform and can help potentially set you up for a strong start in 2022.

TikTok continues to gain ground and, while it’s still evolving its eCommerce capabilities, the platform’s overall growth is following a positive trend across all factors and elements. TikTok is already big, and it’s designed to only get bigger from the new year onwards.
