Ladies and gentlemen, look out because this could be handy – TikTok has added a new element to its Creative Center that highlights how popular specific products are in the app, based on the number of ads posted about the item. So, we’re getting new ad analytics of sorts? Kind of. Also included are impressions, view-through rates, comments, likes, and basically every other data point you would need to effectively gauge each ad’s performance.

Top Performer

From this, there’s now a new ‘Top Products’ section in the Creative Center, complete with top-trends, songs, best-performing ads, and more. We know, an advertiser’s dream, right? You can filter the top listings by region and product category, while also having the ability to look at the last 7 up to 30 days of data. Wow, so it’s like having readily available access to your bank statement, too? Neat.

Tapping in the ‘Details’ element at the far right of the listing will take you to a more comprehensive overview of that specific product, which includes click through rate (CTR), an impressions chart, and other pertinent information. Meanwhile, if you switch over to the ‘Audience Insights’ element, you can see an age bracket breakdown of who’s engaging with these ads, along with related interests, providing even more critical data that’ll contribute to your planning efforts. This part, specifically, helps improve your targeting, allowing you to more effectively hone in on the ideal market for your offers.

TikTok may not be the best when it comes to direct content monetization, but from a marketing standpoint, it’s in a different league altogether. Where YouTube dominates in direct revenue share, TikTok outclasses it in digital marketing. Especially on the latter, TikTok’s model incentivizes brands to learn the ropes, partner with its creators, and transform viral trends into tangible products and services.

There’s a lot here, and if you want to better market your business on TikTok, then it’s worth digging around to see what you can find within your product categories. Did we mention that example clips are also important? Part of what can make products convincing (or not) are sample videos – you might have encountered a video or two that just don’t do the products they’re advertising justice, which is another factor that influences performance stats. If you’re claiming to offer something of quality, then the corresponding videos that highlight such it should also be of equal, if not greater value.

The Wrap

Ad analytics – a thing of beauty. No matter what corner of the internet you might find yourself in, analytics will always play an important role in showing you what works. On that note, each insight element and report that TikTok releases helps you and other marketers out there learn how to better use TikTok and take advantage of its many dynamic mechanisms. With every overview they dish out, the best course of action would be to take it all in and take inspiration from whatever currently works to bolster your own ad efforts.
