Valentine’s Day is almost here, have you mapped out your marketing plan yet? In approximately 10 days, Valentine’s Day will be upon us, and if you haven’t considered how you could tap into all that excitement, then you may want to assess what current options you have available. After all, what’s considered to be the most romantic day of the year, is also one of the most anticipated holidays, so expect engagement rates to skyrocket around the 14th.

Facebook Love Potion

Facebook recently published a 4-page overview of some key tips for Facebook Marketplace sellers for Valentine’s Day, which could be a big help since it includes notes on rising search trends, advertising, tie-in promotions, and more.

While the tips are generally geared towards Marketplace sellers, the trend notes are more universal, with some including particularly good tips on how merchants can optimize their start-out with trend alignment and Facebook promotions.

53% of U.S consumers plan to celebrate the holiday this 2022. Cumulative spending is expected to reach at least $23.9 billion, amounting to an average of $175.41 per consumer. That’s a pretty big average per head, considering that we’re all just coming back from a spending bonanza back-to-back from Christmas and New Year. This says a lot about the relevance of Valentine’s Day for many, providing you with one angle to help steer your Valentine strategies.

The Top Query Items are usually about ideal Valentine’s Day gifts. Nothing specific, but mainly about purchasing a token as a way of showing affection and appreciation for those close to your heart. To note, among my favorite suggestions are candies and greeting cards, which respectively garner 56% and 40% of all responses.

In the Tips area, the overview mentions three major steps, primarily to enhance your lists, to improve product promotion, and to advertise listings. Generally speaking, these three talk about how you can better build resonance for your products, essentially curating your offers so that you appeal and possibly tap into a wider range of audiences.

The Wrap

It’s a short, summative, and very useful overview that provides you with a decent amount of information to help with last-minute preparations. It’s not gravely close that you’ll have to cram, but it’s also not that far out that you might have to rush over a couple of smaller details. Either way, this mini-trend report potentially helps fill in a couple of gaps that you might have, allowing you to still arrive at a pretty solid Valentine’s Day marketing and social media action plan.
