Really though, who doesn’t enjoy more LinkedIn tools, right? LinkedIn has established itself as the top professional social network, proving to be a pivotal platform for those looking to advance their careers beyond the opportunities found in traditional methods. LinkedIn’s ever-growing suite of tools and processes really expands a professional’s horizons, which it further adds to by announcing the coming of additional insights tools to help users better understand their on-platform audience, follower growth stats, new demographic insights, and more.

Analyze The Analytics

Let’s start with follower growth. Like other apps, LinkedIn will now offer insights into audience growth over time, which should help you better track your overall performance.

“In the ‘Audience’ tab, creators can now track their follower growth so they can understand and discover trends. This information can help them determine if a conversation topic, new visual format, or speaking opportunity may have influenced their follower growth, helping them inform their strategy moving forward.”

Follower growth does make for a good chronological performance measure and shows you how much your content resonates with others, just don’t obsess over the day-to-day fluctuations. Off days, spam culls – various things can shift the needle. So long as your broader trend numbers keep going up, then you’re doing the right things.

Oh, let’s not forget the new Demographics section located underneath your follower growth chart, which provides a breakdown of your follower base. LinkedIn demographics are a bit different than the rest, in that they’re separated by job titles and companies. Along with location and other pertinent information, this provides an interesting, platform-specific perspective on who you’re reaching in the app.

You’ll also now be able to check out your top-performing posts in the app, along with a new display in the ‘Posts’ tab. Users can now also export their content performance data for even deeper analytics.

The Wrap

LinkedIn essentially built on their previous insights upgrades that they announced earlier this year. So now, all of us have more tools to tackle deeper insights that’ll hopefully help improve our overall LinkedIn strategy and content performance. As a platform that mainly caters to professionals, having the ability to capture and process loads of audience information is a key trait that not many other platforms emulate, making it a key channel for those who are more focused on developing the business and marketing side of their brand/s. If you’re looking to make these a bigger focus in 2023, then LinkedIn should be a strong contender.
