When it comes to niche audience posts or niche posts in general, LinkedIn tends to fare better than other social platforms, given how its whole core offering revolves around it being a ‘social network’ for professionals. That being said, there’s more that happens within LinkedIn’s walls that go beyond mere Social Media interactions (post, share, comment, etc.), which is where native post scheduling comes in. Now we know what you’re thinking – “Why would I post on LinkedIn when I have a bigger following on, say, Facebook?” – the answer is that LinkedIn has the option to do so (besides also being cleaner than Facebook).

One Step for…

In what might have been an agonizing wait for some over the last couple of months that this has been in testing, some users are now reportedly able to access LinkedIn’s native post-scheduling tool. Now, you never have to miss a post, right? Maybe. For the most part, it at least adds another tool to your LinkedIn management process, which could prove bountiful in helping maximize your on-platform presence. What’s more, LinkedIn might just be a more-than-viable alternative for users looking for a second home in case Twitter, you know, kicks the bucket.

On to the actual process, which is as straightforward as an airport runway. To start, tap on the clock icon to access the scheduling options, then enter the date and time for when you want the post to go live, which users can set up to 90 days in advance. Although how busy do you have to be to schedule a post 3 months out, right? Each to their own, I suppose. After setting your preferred date, simply tap on ‘Next’ and ‘Schedule’ and that’s it. Congratulations! You’ve now scheduled your first post on LinkedIn, great! What’s next?

Just being able to schedule posts sounds pretty shallow, so LinkedIn goes the extra mile and allows users to view and manage their scheduled posts, providing a simple way to maintain their LinkedIn presence even on the go. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a nifty option to have and be aware of, especially for the avid traveler who wishes to maintain their LinkedIn activity while moving about.

The Wrap

It’s by no means a revolutionary addition since there are already plentiful third-party Social Media management apps that offer the same functionality, but nothing will beat the reliability and stability of native scheduling tools, since the primary issue with using services outside of the app to handle in-app posts is integration – mainly because third-party providers don’t have full access to site’s API. The added benefit of LinkedIn having native post scheduling is providing users with more accurate post previews. As the main takeaway, integrated tools provide more definitive guidance, while also facilitating more tools and post types.

It might not be available to everyone just yet, but it soon will be, along with support for all platforms. LinkedIn also mentions that post scheduling will be coming to Groups, Company Pages, and other content types in the near future.
