Google Marketing Live is now on its second straight year! After a successful run last year, Google Live Marketing is coming back this 2022! To make things more exciting, Google just shared a couple of its plans for the event. If you’ve not been able to get from the name alone, this event will surely be a heatsink of insights – and ones that could very much benefit your marketing approaches.

Get Googly With It

Based on Google’s official announcement, Google Marketing Conference will be held on May 24, featuring a mix of in-person and live-streamed content. A hybrid conference model? An interesting approach. Despite this, the actual mix is not yet fully determined as there are still pending COVID restrictions to contend with.

For a company the size of Google, there are a lot of major annual activities. However, Google’s yearly marketing conference has become a key showcase of its latest ad tools. Now that’s big, considering that Google has one, if not the best ad model in the world. Google’s AdSense and former AdWorlds have become some of the most known digital advertising setups in history. Couple this with the fact that Google is also the parent of YouTube, and you have for yourself an award-winning recipe. For Google’s Live Marketing Conference, some key updates would include YouTube ad changes, new ad formats, analytics offers, and more.

You can look forward to Google sharing more details about its upcoming ‘Privacy Sandbox’ for Androidwhich will provide more data protection options for Android users. In a way, it’s their iteration of Apple’s ATT, just a bit less ‘Restrictive’. Given Google’s reliance on digital ad revenue, the expectation is that Google’s new framework and data restriction options will be less impactful for marketers. Even if it does end up favoring marketers, the changes will still be significant, but at least not in a purely negative sense. Google also recently announced that it has reached the next stage of phasing out web traffic cookies. Instead of cookies, Google’s opting to shift towards a more topic-based structure for digital ad targeting, reducing the need for individual data collection.

It’s a conference well worth attending, as it’s not very common to be able to easily attend a potentially free conference by the most visited website in the world. Chances are, if you’re really serious about taking your social media game to the next level, then Google, and all its related elements should be part of your checklist.

The Wrap

These, as well as other updates, will no doubt be part of the event agenda, and is definitely worth tuning into; getting more insight into what’s next for Google’s ad tools. Google says that its Marketing Live keynote will be live-streamed globally. There will also be a range of on-demand and virtual breakout sessions with the key theme “built to help you achieve your business goals”.
