Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate Pinterest publishing new insights into key wedding ceremony trends. Tis the season of weddings and Pinterest aims to help businesses plan for what’s coming, highlighting what people are looking for as they celebrate a major life moment within the coming months.

According to Pinterest:

“The 2022 wedding season is going to be one of the busiest on record as couples make up for canceled, altered, and postponed celebrations. As the destination for wedding inspiration, Pinterest gathered all of the top trends to help Pinners get ready for this nuptial season.”

Bells Are Ringing

Pinterest’s wedding trend insights are based on user search activity, including a range of non-traditional approaches, LGBTQ wedding alignments, dress colors, regional shifts, and more. Among other things, some of the most prominent key notes are:

  • ‘Black Dress Wedding Party’ searches have increased by 10x.

  • ‘Goth Wedding Decorations’ are up by 6x.

  • Black wedding idea searches are up by 6x.

  • Vampire wedding dress searches have increased by 4x.

  • Woodland Fairy wedding searches went up by 7x.

  • Enchanted Forest wedding dress searches are up by 5x.

It’s a fair bit of variety, offering you expanded marketing potential to link into these trends. At least for the first four bullets, it would seem that ‘Black’ is becoming a more favored choice over the common ‘White’ wedding color. True enough, even Pinterest notes that Black dresses and decor are ‘having a moment’ this wedding season, with searches for ‘Dark Wedding Ideas’ increasing by 59x.

  • Searches for ‘Black Glam Nails’ are up by 50x.

  • This time, ‘Black Dress Wedding Party’ searches are up by 34x.

  • ‘Red and Black Wedding Theme’ searches have increased by 4x.

  • ‘Sage Green and Black’ wedding searches went up by 3x.

Again, these make for a variety of unconventional wedding-related searches to consider, which could fit in perfectly for seasonal plans. Pinterest also notes that ‘Bridgerton’ themed wedding searches are up by 12x, reflecting its cultural influence on the season. At the same time, Pinners are also looking for options to reduce their big day’s environmental impact, with ‘Thrifted’ wedding searches going up by 3x, ‘Eco-Friendly Wedding Favor’ searches up by 2x, and ‘Thrifted Wedding Decor’ searches increasing by 69%.

Of course, we can’t leave out the LGBTQ community. Certain inclusive wedding ideas have also been looked up, including:

  • ‘Non-Binary Wedding Outfit’ searches are up by 8x.

  • ‘Lesbian Wedding Briday Party’ searches up by 3x.

  • ‘Queer Wedding’ searches have doubled YoY.
