With Christmas merely 100 days away, it’s now more important than ever to have your holiday marketing plan ready. If you don’t have one in place yet, then it’s time to get one locked in place pronto to ensure that you’re able to maximize the seasonal opportunities.

Besides the big C-Day itself, there’s a range of dates and events to also plan for, as outlined by Twitter, which has also launched an updated holiday planning guide to help brands and users map out their Tweet marketing strategy.

Holiday Holla!

As Twitter notes, among the key dates you need to prepare for are:

  • Thanksgiving (November 24th)

  • Black Friday (November 25th)

  • Small Business Saturday in the US (November 26th)

  • Cyber Monday (November 28th)

  • Giving Tuesday (November 29th)

  • Small Business Saturday in the UK (December 3rd)

  • Green Monday (December 13th)

  • Hanukkah (December 18th-26th)

  • Christmas Eve and Day (December 24th-25th)

  • New Year’s Eve (December 31st)

Twitter says that Tweet discussion around the holidays saw a big jump last day, which presents a major opportunity to tap into the related conversation this time around. Twitter suggests that you strive to ‘be the brand people talk about this festive season’. 61% of holiday talk is starting early this year, tracking a +100M increase in total festive Tweets and a recent insight stating that 76% of users that also partake in seasonal Tweet conversations end up making a purchase.

Some of these increases are of course attributed to COVID restrictions easing up, but still, the trends show that discussion is rising, which does present new opportunities to link into trends and boost your promotions. Based on Twitter’s graphs, the spikes have already begun. Twitter’s holiday marketing hub includes a range of trend insights and case studies, along with links to Tweet Marketing webinars, and more.

The Wrap

It could be a valuable companion for your holiday planning. Meanwhile, Twitter has also provided an overview of key Hashtags to consider for Christmas 2022; expect to see a lot of #GiftIdeas, #HolidayShopping, #HappyHolidays, and #ChristmasDecor.

It’s suggested that you plan giveaways and use the appropriate Hashtags to complement campaign awareness and discovery. Since it’s the festive season, then it won’t hurt to also align your campaign themes to better resonate with the overall ‘mood’ of your audience/s and the market in general.
