Twitter has created a personal Super Bowl tradition for itself, one that it looks to continue with a set of the newest Super Bowl promotions. To help spice things up, it’s introducing a new activation that will showcase selected Tweets in wide-screen, across the roof of the So-Fi Stadium. That’s a pretty big projection, as you can see here.

Super Twitter Bowl

So, the way Twitter’s crazy idea goes is that it’ll project Tweet predictions about Super Bowl LVI across So-Fi’s ingenious LED roof, enabling even regular Twitter users to potentially have their name up in lights, with their Twitter handles out for the world to see. Unless you’ve actually been to the So-Fi Stadium, it’d be a pretty darn big screen. I bet even those at the international space station could see it, with a telescope at least.

So-Fi Stadium, of course, has several digital screens inside as well, with chosen Tweets displayed on them, too. That would mean that Tweets would be visible externally and internally, giving fans a potentially huge boost, especially upon seeing their name flashed on a massive screen. Twitter is calling out for predictions, so be sure to Tweet a reply here for a chance to be featured!

As mentioned earlier, Twitter’s out to build an innovative tradition of Super Bowl promotions. Over the last two years, Twitter printed people’s Tweets onto confetti, raining down on whoever were the winning players by the game’s end. Last year’s variation included thank you messages for frontliners, gratifying them for their continued choice of sacrifice throughout the pandemic.

Twitter has also implemented various team emojis and in-app activations to facilitate Super Bowl discussions. To note, Twitter has long been involved in the NFL media push around the Super Bowl, further adding to its event linkage. It’s a crucial event for Tweet engagement, as was evident in the past season, where there were more than 4 billion video views on NFL-related Tweets. NFL postseason discussion jumped by 400% as opposed to the previous season.

The Wrap

This new push does indeed seem to take things to the next level, ideally helping Twitter to further cement its place as the prime avenue for Super Bowl-related discussion and engagement. Consecutive successful tie-ins with the Super Bowl could also see Twitter garner favor with other big promotions, and not just those limited to major sports events. If Twitter manages to secure partnerships in other fronts, backed by highly influential entities, then usage, use-case, and overall growth could take a massive turn for the better, opening up equal opportunities for Twitter to advance its Blue subscription offering, Communities, and Spaces.

Tweets may be relatively simplistic, especially when compared to other mediums, but in this case, you can see how even something simple can be utilized to be a central part of a large, demographic event, which says something about Twitter’s innate potency to become an even bigger social platform.
