What is the future of Facebook marketing?

It’s Facebook groups.

Building your own online community helps you build relationships, promote your authority in your niche/field and they are just more fun than a Facebook page.

Facebook groups are a powerful marketing tool, helping you attract new customers and engaging current ones with exclusive content, community, and support.

In this blog I am going to explain why Facebook groups are the future of Facebook marketing and 5 tips to grow your Facebook group.

Facebook groups are so powerful because they are a direct line to your customers and to your sphere of influence. A Facebook page is more passive, while a Facebook group is more active.

People love to talk about themselves, discuss things, and answer questions. We do this all day every day. But with a Facebook group, people can be doing this in your online community/online store.

In the past year or so, Facebook has really changed the algorithm and put more of an importance on Facebook groups vs. pages.

The algorithm is designed to prioritize content from Facebook groups with high engagement. The more you and your group are posting and interacting, the further your reach in the newsfeed will be.

Not only that, but as you get more engagement and more members, Facebook will start to recommend your group to other like minded people.

How cool is it that if your group is about realtors, Facebook will start to recommend your group to people who are in other realtor-based Facebook groups.

Now that we understand why Facebook groups are so important, let’s talk about how to grow your group.

Here are 5 tips on how to grow your Facebook group:

  • Promote your group externally. Whether it’s your other social media pages, your email list, etc.

  • Use the ‘Invite Members’ feature. Make sure you invite all of the people in your sphere of influence and ask all of your friends/teammates/employees to do the same.

  • Post content that adds value and is engaging. You need to give content to current members of your group, that will keep them engaged and that will bring in new members.

  • Use the “Welcome New Members” feature. Once a week, you should write a ‘welcome new members’ post. People love when you thank them for joining your group. Don’t forget to put some links to your other projects when writing these welcome new members posts.

  • Use the words as text feature and ask engaging questions. Asking questions is a great way to increase your group engagement. Try to mix it up and don’t always ask serious business questions. People love giving opinions, especially on fun questions.

Now you know why Facebook groups are so important and how to grow your group. Facebook groups can really be a lot of fun and you can create an online community that can change people’s lives.

If you haven’t started a Facebook group for your business, you need to start today! Build your own community, provide value, and watch your life and business take off.

It doesn’t take a ton of time or effort. You just need to be consistent and provide value.
